When a group of refugee people were fighting for food and clothes, they came up with a book of dreams for the next generation in those days of struggle. The thought came that only education can bring a change in the situation. Education brings awareness. Consciousness brings revolution. And from that idea, on January 4, 1954, the school was built by breaking the lock of a permanent government building. Jirat Colony High School. The word Colony is the pride of this school. This word is mixed with time. The school, which started as a coed. Within a few days, the right of girls to study was lost. She is right back in class XI. The English medium of education is going on in parallel with the Bengali medium in schools today. The girls also came there with the boys. The co-curriculum of various streams has been started. This time the goal is Gandhiji's idea of action-oriented education. Our goal is Rabindranath's thought. Gandhiji's dream. And with that, the school is equipped with modern technology. Respect the old, love the new. May our school be built on the amalgamation of the two. We want to show the reflection of that spirit with this idea of the website. We want to create a democratic environment by bringing the school to the masses. We want the cooperation of every person from every level of society and constructive criticism at the same time. And the light of our new dawn will rise from within.
